TOYOTA EXTENDS SAN FRANCISCO UNICORNS PARTNERSHIP FOR 2026 MAJOR LEAGUE CRICKET SEASON
The San Francisco Unicorns have extended their partnership with Northern California Toyota Dealers (Toyota) into the 2026 Major League Cricket (MLC) season.
Continuing its designation as Official Partner, Toyota will also return as the Official Title Partner of Family Day, the Unicorns’ annual community event, which returns on June 21, 2026 and takes place at Adrian Wilcox High School in Santa Clara.
Toyota, one of the world’s leading automotive brands, continues to invest in community-driven sports initiatives across Northern California. The Toyota logo will be prominently displayed on the front right leg of the Unicorns’ matchday trousers, with similar placement on team training shorts and spectator shorts. Toyota will also receive signage and activation areas on matchdays and at hospitality events, as well as player access opportunities.
Dave Johnston, Northern California TDA President, commented on the partnership: “The San Francisco Unicorns has cemented its position in the Bay Area sporting landscape in recent years, bringing world-class cricket to the Oakland Coliseum and putting on first-rate community activations with its Family Day. We’re thrilled to continue to support the Unicorns’ community for the 2026 season, and we look forward to putting on yet another show for its passionate fanbase this summer.”
David White, CEO of San Francisco Unicorns, said: “We aim to partner with brands that share our elite culture and commitment to growing the great game of cricket within the Bay Area, and Toyota does just that. As the key partner to our Family Day, which has gone from strength to strength with each season, Toyota is a globally recognized brand with local DNA. We look forward to building on this successful partnership with success on and off the field this season.”
This summer, fans will be able to witness cricketing superstar Ravichandran Ashwin for the first time in Unicorns’ colors, along with other world-class names, including returning captain Matt Short, power hitter Finn Allen, and local Bay Area success story and USA international Sanjay Krishnamurthi.
San Francisco Unicorns’ MLC season begins on Friday, June 19, 2026 against LA Knight Riders at Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium, near Dallas, Texas. The team will play three regular-season matches at the Oakland Coliseum on June 24, June 26 and June 28. Major League Cricket’s 2026 postseason will be staged at the iconic Bay Area venue, with the Championship match taking place on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
