The San Francisco Unicorns have confirmed the return of their successful preseason fan event for the 2025 Cognizant Major League Cricket season: San Francisco Unicorns Family Day presented by Toyota will take place at Kathleen MacDonald High School on June 8, 2025.
Returning for its third year, Family Day will be sponsored by Toyota as part of the team’s ongoing relationship with Northern California Toyota Dealers. The event will be free to attend and all ages will be welcome to meet the team’s head coach, Shane Watson, and its international and domestic players.
The star players will also help lead a free cricket clinic for kids aged 6–14, passing on their batting and bowling tips to the next generation of players. Pre-registration for the clinic, which is coached by and run in partnership with the Unicorns’ non-profit partner Aspire Cricket is required and can be completed here.
Family Day will commence at 11am and run until 2pm, featuring refreshments, family-friendly activities, and a merchandise hub where fans will get an exclusive first look at the 2025 season’s official jerseys and merchandise, produced by cricket apparel experts Belgravia Apparel.
David White, CEO of San Francisco Unicorns, said: “It’s fantastic to see Family Day continue to grow as an important event for cricket in the Bay Area. I want to thank Toyota for supporting this fun day out, and I’m particularly looking forward to meeting the many fans who have been supporting us, as well as those who want to learn more about what makes cricket great.
“We’re excited to connect with our fans and share the excitement of the season ahead.”
Dave Johnston, Northern California TDA President, added: “It’s a privilege to collaborate with the Unicorns for Family Day. The team is making remarkable progress in bringing cricket to the Northern California community, and this is a prime example of an outreach event that can ignite a passion for US cricket in future generations.”
The San Francisco Unicorns Family Day takes place four days before the Unicorns’ first match against the Washington Freedom on July 12, with the landmark fixture the first to be held at the Unicorns’ home ground, the Oakland Coliseum.
