The San Francisco Unicorns has announced its schedule for the third season of Major League Cricket, the United States’ burgeoning professional Twenty20 League, featuring many of the world’s biggest cricketing stars.
The 2024 finalists commence MLC 2025 at their home stadium, the Oakland Coliseum, on June 12 against last year’s champions, Washington Freedom, in what is set to be a fitting homecoming as they play in the Bay Area in front of home fans for the first time in their history.
San Francisco Unicorns’ ten-match schedule continues against the LA Knight Riders and MI New York at the same venue before moving to Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium, near Dallas, TX, for four further fixtures before completing the league stage at Broward County Stadium, FL, for three matches, including a final West Coast derby repeat against the Knight Riders.
The 2025 MLC season features 30 league matches and four playoff games, five more games than 2024, including more local rivalries. Two new stadiums, Oakland Coliseum and Broward County Stadium, will host for the first time in what’s set to be the most exciting and best-attended edition to date.

San Francisco Unicorns will be aiming to win their first MLC title in 2025, playing once again under head coach and legendary Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, with a settled roster featuring several illustrious cricket stars, including former USA captain Corey Anderson, 2019 Cricket World Cup winner Liam Plunkett, and Australian internationals Matt Short and Jake Fraser-McGurk.
With a number of exciting domestic talents on their roster, including Sanjay Krishnamurthi, who earned his first USA call-up following last year’s tournament, and all-rounder Hassan Kahn, the Unicorns will be looking to go one better in 2025 after an impressive run to last year’s final.
The same six inaugural teams, including Texas Super Kings and Seattle Orcas, will compete to be Major League Cricket champion in 2025, with the final to be played on July 3 at the Grand Prairie Stadium, TX.
“This is truly a landmark season for the San Francisco Unicorns and Major League Cricket, said Anand Rajaraman, San Francisco Unicorns’ co-owner. “This schedule really brings home the fact that we’re playing in the Bay Area for the first time, and we can’t wait to make our fans proud with three exciting fixtures at the legendary Oakland Coliseum.”
David White, Unicorns’ CEO, added: “We’re thrilled to bring world-class cricket to the West Coast for the first time in 2025. With a strong roster returning for this season, we’ve got realistic aspirations to be around the top of the ladder after our first three games at the Coliseum, before heading to Dallas and Fort Lauderdale to finish the league and play-off stages on a high.”
