SAN FRANCISCO UNICORNS AND BART RENEW PARTNERSHIP FOR MLC 2026
The San Francisco Unicorns have renewed their partnership with Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) for the upcoming 2026 Major League Cricket (MLC) season, launching a network-wide marketing and transit awareness campaign tying in with matches at the Oakland Coliseum.
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural collaboration, BART and the Unicorns will expand their shared local footprint for the new season. For two weeks leading up to and during the first Oakland leg of MLC 2026 (June 24-28, 2026), BART will run a dedicated Unicorns messaging system-wide across its 50 stations. Transit users at select stations, including Embarcadero and Fremont, will also see prominent branded station banners throughout June, encouraging fans to use public transport to attend the games at the Oakland Coliseum.
BARTable, the network’s official entertainment and events channel, will also anchor the digital push with exclusive ticket giveaways and Unicorns promotional content across its “This Week” newsletter and social media channels.
The San Francisco Unicorns will provide multi-channel exposure for BART across its platforms and at live game environments through the season, The BART logo will feature prominently during matchdays, and on the official team website with a dedicated directions widget. The organizations will also collaborate on player-driven content highlighting the convenience of public transit on matchdays.
Additionally, BART will host a booth at the Unicorns’ Family Day, to be held on June 21 at Adrian Wilcox High School, in Santa Clara, and will offer its riders discounted tickets throughout the MLC season.
David White, CEO of San Francisco Unicorns, said: “We can’t wait to return to the Oakland Coliseum and the Bay Area for the upcoming MLC season, and collaborating once again with BART will provide vital local exposure for the season. Our collaboration highlights how seamless and sustainable public transit is for the gameday experience at our iconic home venue.
“BART makes it easy for the Unicorns’ diverse and passionate fan base from the Bay and beyond to access world-class cricket in an arena that showcases the power, pace, and thrill of cricket on a big stage.”
Dave Martindale, Director of BART Marketing and Research, added: “The best gameday experiences start with the ease of getting there and getting home after. We’re thrilled to be building on last year’s campaign success with the Unicorns to carry on this message once again into the 2026 MLC season.
“BART is the most stress-free way to get to what’s set to be world-class cricket on show at the Oakland Coliseum, not to mention being quicker and greener. With some prominent branding, promotional activity, and a sustained digital presence, we’re looking forward to better connecting cricket fans and the diverse communities across the Bay Area with the action.”
San Francisco Unicorns, featuring cricketing stars like Ravichandran Ashwin, Matt Short, and Finn Allen, play their first match at the Oakland Coliseum on June 24, 2026 against Texas Super Kings, with two more matches scheduled on June 26 and 28. They will aim to return for the play-offs, which will be staged entirely in Oakland, beginning on July 15.
